About

Alastair is a Duke trained Integrative Health Coach. He works to improve clients' long-term health through partnering with them to make achievable and sustainable lifestyle change.

Originally from the UK, Alastair came to Singapore in late 90s, initially working with top tier performing artists and their teams. Later he moved into live events, organising major concerts and sports events, including being part of the core team that delivered the Formula 1 night race to Singapore. As part of the high stress entertainment industry he witnessed the health issues of those around him and also, first-hand, faced his own health challenges. Projects increasingly led into health - paralleling his own personal and longstanding interest in this field. To complement his health coaching, Alastair has certificates in Nutrition Science, Exercise Physiology (Stanford School of Medicine) and Plant Based Nutrition (eCornell).

Now Alastair's focus is working with clients to promote whole health - to maximise vitality and longevity. As part of his whole health lifestyle Alastair enjoys: running, exploring food markets and the great outdoors.

Whole health is achieved when proper foundations are in place. And, in our complex lives, even supposedly 'simple' healthy habits can be a challenge. Coaching allows me to partner with my clients and to support their own unique journeys to health and wellbeing.

Can Certain Foods Reverse Biological Ageing? The Methylation Diet and Lifestyle Study Suggests It's Possible
The science of ageing is evolving rapidly, and with it, new ways of measuring how well - or poorly - our bodies are holding up over time. One of the most promising tools in this field is the epigenetic clock, which examines subtle chemical changes to our DNA to estimate our biological age. In a recent secondary analysis of a pioneering dietary trial, researchers explored how specific foods may influence these markers - and possibly slow, or even reverse, the ageing process.

Magnesium for Exercise, Runners and Athletic Performance: What the Latest Evidence Tells Us
Magnesium is a crucial mineral involved in more than 300 enzymatic reactions in the body, playing vital roles in energy production, muscle contraction, nerve transmission, and recovery. For physically active people - from weekend joggers to elite athletes - ensuring adequate magnesium intake might be key not only for maintaining health but also for enhancing training outcomes and preventing injury. Yet, many remain deficient, often without knowing it.

Red Meat, Cancer Risk and the Power of Plants: What Six Major Studies Reveal about Colorectal Cancer
The link between red and processed meat and cancer has been under scrutiny for decades. As research evolves, so too does our understanding - not just of the risks, but of how dietary choices might help offset them. A series of large, high-quality studies released between 2016 and 2024 now paints a clearer picture: while high red and processed meat intake is consistently associated with increased cancer risk, diets rich in vegetables, fruit and fibre may significantly reduce this risk.
