Herbs, spices, grains, legumes, nuts, fruit, vegetables... are rich in chemical compounds: polyphenols. These health promoting compounds are often at the heart of many so-called superfoods. Those consuming diets rich in polyphenols (these are plant forward diets) have better long-term health outcomes.

This article is a collection of studies, those that we have referenced in other articles. Perhaps you might find them useful too. Studies are listed by year, with meta-analyses and systemic reviews prioritised when possible. If you have any suggestions of other studies to include, please add them in the Comments section at bottom of page.
