For those participating (or have participated) in Singapore's 2026 Danish Flyver March, and are interested in November's PARAS'10 Virtual, you have a decent time period - 10 weeks - to recover and prepare. How to do so safely?

As ever, please talk to your doctor or medical practitioner most familiar with your medical history before implementing any changes in diet, exercise or lifestyle, especially if you are under treatment.

With no set time limit for the PARAS'10 Virtual, other than any self-imposed goal, the main factor to contend with is the increase in weight: from 11 to 16kg dry. For some this might be easy, for others - not. Of course, by the time we factor in and deal with life's usual, conflicting demands - 10 weeks of 'opportunities for training sessions' can suddenly become much reduced. And the risk of injury increased.

Below is a depiction of the key variables associated with successful training - 'successful' meaning consistent progression without injury.

How does this apply to your continued training, between now and November?

As with any event focused training plan, worth writing it down: to see where you have opportunities, how and when to change your training stimulus, what might get in the way (holidays, business trips etc) and plan your taper.
